Introducing Our Newest Attorneys

Recently, Debbie Jones and Tanner Puryear joined BPE Law.Today, we take time to introduce the newest attorneys here at BPE Law Group. We are fortunate to have great individuals joining our team and believe they will be a tremendous resource to our clients. Debbie is an associate attorney in the Probate and Estate Planning Practice involved in all aspects of probate and estate planning matters. Tanner is an associate attorney in the Litigation practice and works on real estate and contested probate litigation matters.

Debbie B. Jones joined BPE Law Group, P.C. as an associate attorney in January 2020. Debbie is part of BPE’s Probate and Estate Planning practice.

Debbie has over 15 years of experience as a Probate Court Investigator, reviewing Probate conservatorships. Debbie’s practice also includes Estate Planning, Trust Administration and Probate. She enjoys working with clients to help them navigate the legal challenges of planning for the transfer of their own estates or assisting them disbursing a loved one’s assets.

Debbie comes to BPE Law Group, P.C. with varied work experience. Prior to working as a Probate Court Investigator, Debbie spent 9 years as a claims specialist handling property and liability claims for a home insurance carrier.

Debbie grew up in Roseville, California and attended UC Santa Barbara where she obtained her Bachelor of Arts degree in history. She returned to Northern California and attended UOP McGeorge School of Law, for her Juris Doctor. Debbie returned to Placer County to live and raise her family. Until her children left home for college, she was involved in many volunteer committees for education and sports programs. In her spare time, Debbie enjoys taking her dog for walks, paddling boarding with her husband, and camping with friends.

Tanner Puryear was raised in Modesto, California. He received his Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from San Francisco State University in June of 2014.

Tanner later attended and graduated from the University of the Pacific, McGeorge School of Law. While at McGeorge, Tanner worked as a law clerk at Wilcoxen & Callaham, a personal injury firm that represented plaintiff’s in medical malpractice and negligence actions.

Tanner later clerked at Koeller, Nebeker, Carlson, & Haluck, an insurance defense firm that specialized in construction defect and litigation defense. While working and balancing a full academic schedule, Tanner also competed on the school’s mock trial team.

Upon passing the California Bar Examination, Tanner practiced law as a workers’ compensation defense attorney, representing the interests of public agency employers, insurance carriers, and third party administrators before courts throughout Northern California. He was an associate at Lenahan, Lee, Slater, Pearse & Majernik, and later Roy Park & Associates, where he was responsible for deposing injured workers, litigating discovery disputes, analyzing liability exposure and drafting settlement agreements.

Tanner joined BPE Law Group in November of 2019 as an associate to the litigation and probate team. Since that time he has assisted in litigating numerous cases, ranging from quiet title actions to trust disputes.

In his spare time, Tanner enjoys reading, golfing (to the best of his ability), and spending time with family and friends.
