Saying Goodbye to Old Friends, and Welcoming New Ones

This year at BPE Law has been marked by significant change. The beginning of the year marked the culmination of a transition process that had been in the works for quite some time when founder Steve Beede officially began the transition into retirement and I was given the honor to carry on the strong traditions of BPE’s reputation as a leading real estate law firm in Sacramento. I do not step into this position lightly and BPE remains committed as always to delivering the exceptional legal services to our clients for years to come.

We also get to say goodbye our long-term colleague and friend, Greg Wayland,

who at the end of 2017 will close this chapter of his life and begin a new chapter as he takes on the role of County Counsel for Calaveras County. Many of you know Greg and for those of you that have had the pleasure to work with him, know that he is an exceptional attorney that obtains stellar results for his clients. His creative thinking, decisiveness and relentless approach to the law has led to incredible results, including the significant result he obtained for the Town of Locke. Greg is a dedicated professional and he will be missed around the office here at BPE Law. We wish him the best of luck as he makes this transition and assumes his new position with Calaveras County.

We also get to say welcome to some new additions to the family here at BPE Law Group. Some of you have had the pleasure to work with Adem Balikci who has been a law clerk in BPE for the past year. Adem took and passed the July bar exam this year and is now a licensed attorney. Adem is concentrating his focus on litigation. He has already taken an active role in assisting our investor clients and property management clients in their eviction needs. We look forward to Adem’s contributions to our company.

Finally, we also get to welcome, my wife, Meghan Dunnagan (whom I think is one of the best attorneys in all of California) to the family here at BPE Law.

Meghan officially joined BPE Law Group on October 1, 2017. She brings a wealth of experience and expertise that will be of great benefit to our clients. A graduate of UCLA Law School, Meghan previously spent nearly 6 years with Downey Brand in the land use and mining practice area and has spent the last 5 years with the Thomas Law Group. When Meghan is not at home chasing our two boys around the house her legal work will remain focused on assisting our clients in their land use needs as well as lending her expert hand to assist our clients on their appellate needs, she will also be providing contract services to outside law firms to assist on their land use projects where needed.

It has been a year of changes for sure and we look forward to what 2018 holds.
